GIST: An interview with Anne Ibrahim who has over 50 shoes in her wardrobe

Fashion might mean everything to women but to Anne, shoes means everything to her. Read this special interview we had with Anne Ibrahim, CEO at purple and blues wardrobe Lagos. What does style mean to you?
Basically, it means comfort and modesty; being comfortable in whatever I wear no matter the length, whether short or long. I try as much as possible to be modest instead of over-dressing. I am very conservative when it comes to style. I adore wearing knee length dresses because I have fine legs so sometimes it gives me pleasure showing them.
What does it take you to look good?
It doesn’t cost me much. I take care of my body by attending the spa once or twice in a month. I use good moisturizer for my body, good sleep and I also eat well.
How best do you like to dress?
I love dresses a lot because they are easy to wear and it makes me feel comfortable either short or long. I don’t wear so much of trousers, jeans and jeggy as a lady because dresses make me showcase that girlish and delicate look as a lady.
What accessories would you consider your best?
The parts of accessories I don’t joke with in my wardrobe are shoes because I ‘m a shoe freak, so I buy them a lot. Although, I don’t buy shoes with a particular designer name or label. I buy my shoes here in Nigeria and I also travel abroad for shopping for my boutique. Of course, my desire for style drove me into doing cloth and accessory business. If I am not a stylish person there is no way I could buy quality and nice goods for people to patronize and look good in their own way. I love wearing Guess, Faith and River Island shoes. Mark and Spencer and Lasers underwears are my favourite. I also wear our locally made clothes made by my Nigerian tailors Sherybell, Vogue African and House of Denim.
How many pairs of shoes can one find in your wardrobe? 
I have over 50 shoes in my wardrobe. I love wearing shoes depending on the kind of clothes I am wearing and the occasion.
How many handbags can you boast of?
I don’t adore carrying handbags but I do store them in my wardrobe as a lady, but I like clutches and purses a lot, so I have plenty of them.
Which are your most expensive handbags and shoes?
My most expensive bag is Hermes Paris while shoes is Karren Mellen I bought for some thousands of dollars. I wouldn’t tell you the exact amount because I dress to look good and not to intimidate anyone, as a God fearing person.

What is the total worth of your shoes and bags?
I would not be able to tell the figure because I don’t keep records, but let me guest, may be, 10,000 Dollars.

Which is your most expensive accessory?
Roberto Cavalli glasses that I bought 900 Dollars.

What type of perfume do you use?
I am a collector of perfumes. I use more than one at a time such as Elizabeth Aden perfume and any of Jimmy Cuss collections.

Would you wear clothes that will expose your vital parts?
I don’t wear micro mini, neither will  I wear clothes that will show my cleavage because I am fair in complexion. What message am i passing to the public?

What is your take on cleavage?
Seal them up, you rather not show them. It’s your pride as a woman.

What is that fashion item you can’t do without?
It’s my shoes, and for make-up, it’s my lip gloss and eye pencil.

What type of jewellery do you prefer?
Simple and comfortable jewellery, but it must suit whatever I am wearing
